May 13, 2009…Nashville, TN…Fans respond to Decyfer Down’s new album Crash purchasing nearly 9,000 copies in its first week. The project landed in the No.3 spot on Christian Soundscan chart, debuted at No. 66 on Billboard’s Top 200 and topped the iTunes ® Christian chart at No. 1. The band garnered their second consecutive No. 1 hit with “Fading” at Christian Rock Radio charts last week and the single is continuing to build at CHR following the No. 1 success of the album’s title cut, “Crash.”
“Fading” started spinning on radio stations in February and has been receiving airplay in large markets such as Radio U in Columbus, OH, The Call in Miami, Power FM in Dallas, The Effect Radio Network, M88, Yes FM, The Z. CHR stations include Air 1, Way FM, KXWA in Denver, WAYG in Grand Rapids, and more.
iTunes ® and Rhapsody will also be offering exclusive bonus songs for Decyfer Down fans from the new album. iTunes ® will feature the bonus studio cut, “Now I’m Alive,” and Rhapsody will present an acoustic version of “Best I Can.”
There has been an outpour of raving reviews about Crash since the album became available nationwide on May 5:
“It’s truly excellent, mixing it up but remaining true to who they are as a band. Melodic and guitar-driven… keeping the hard-rocking feeling throughout but varying how that’s interpreted. This is ten out of ten stars!”-Hollywood Jesus
“Crash is a must have for fans of Decyfer Down as well as for those who simply like their music loud, proud and uncompromised.”-About.com
Rock music fans have also had the opportunity to hear the new songs from Crash as Decyfer Down has opened Skillet’s Comatose Tour, which has seen several sell-out dates in the 17 shows they have held thus far. Playing for over 35,000 people so far on the tour, nearly 70% of the shows have been sold out or capacity-filled crowds, in cities including Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Nashville, and Oklahoma City. The 30+ city tour launched on Apr. 2 and will continue through May 24. Tour dates are listed below.
